A PAN (Permanent Account Number) card is a unique 10-digit alphanumeric identifier issued by the Indian Income Tax Department. It’s essential for financial transactions, filing income tax returns, and serves as a proof of identity. To apply for a new PAN card, individuals can complete Form 49A (for Indian citizens) or Form 49AA (for foreign citizens) online through NSDL or UTIITSL, submit required identity, address, and birth documents, and pay a nominal fee. The process typically takes 15-20 days, and applicants receive a physical card as well as an electronic PAN (e-PAN).

A Minor PAN is a PAN card issued to individuals under 18 years of age in India. It is used for financial transactions such as opening a bank account or investing in financial instruments, where a PAN is required. The application is submitted by the minor’s parent or legal guardian, and documents such as the minor’s birth certificate, along with proof of the parent/guardian’s identity and address, are required. Once the minor turns 18, they must update the PAN with their photograph and signature.

A PAN Correction enables updating details on your existing PAN card, like name, date of birth, or address. To apply, complete the correction form, attach proof documents (like Aadhaar for name or birth certificates for date of birth), and submit it to a PAN service center or TIN-Facilitation Center. A small fee is applicable, and once processed, you’ll receive a corrected PAN card at your address.
